In the age of instant gratification, notifications, 24*7 media, connectivity, stress is one of the by-products. Mostly, it is the result of one's own thinking but at times other can jeopardize our mental health too.

The key is to pull out, detach, move further away from all those things, people or situations which put you into  the stress pit.

1. Choose to fight your own battles: Readily, we move away from our life's script to the drama going on in others life and gradually become part of their life story. Whereas, we should be the Michelangelo of our life. Stick to your life's narration. Be the central character of your own life than play a secondary role in someone's else story.

2. Read, read, read more: It is for no reason that books are called loyal companions for life. The minute you choose to be part of a narrative which is different than yours, your mind takes a deviation. Take a detour into the bylanes of a different worldview.

3. Tidying up space: Clearing clutter works at multiple levels. Physical space looks clean, energy of the place changes too, at mental level one attains a sense of accomplishment. Dust off the long standing

4. Blogging -It so happens when you are in the rut of negativity, people stop communication with you. Nobody is interested to buy negativity. Who would want to give away time on phone or in person and get energy of negativity in exchange? Blogging therefore helps in putting your unheard voice across. I am writing this piece when I am myself fighting the unseen battle with negativity.  Hence, it is a tried and tested formula. Let me know if it works for you!

5. Exercise- One hour of morning walk/yoga/aerobics/gym/meditation/pilates (anything that works for you) is highly recommended to give a befitting reply to negativity. Exercise cuts down stress and builds a positive sphere in and around you giving you much needed strength to go on with a smile during tough times.
