If you are looking for a decent haircut and wondering which parlour to hit, the 'Hair and Shanti' salon could be a reasonable spot. The Unisex salon charges Rs 350 for a haircut unless you want to get it done by Miss Shanti, the owner, herself. Then, the cost would escalate to Rs 550.The prized haircut by Miss Shanti has to be sought with an appointment and is available only at selective branches spanning South Ex, Ambience Mall Gurgaon, MGF Mall Saket, Janpath Bhawan.
I went for the Janpath Bhawan spot which opened Nov 2009 and is next to the famous Depaul'x Coffee house. The place was small but unlike many other brands, the hairdresser listens to your demands and follows your instructions to give you a desired look.
With the soft bollywood numbers playing in the background, and a side view of people jostling for space on the Janpath corridor, the place is cocooned into a hole where you sit down to emerge with your changed look.
May not be great, but it won't be bad either.
